Courses,
Lifts and Life
Well Thursday started
at the 6am time again – I had to wear grown up clothes and get out of the house
by 7am as I was on a course, so breakfast was a pecan nakd bar in my car….
Despite leaving at 7am
I barely made it to the course for 9am due to pants traffic, so all a bit
flustered and straight into learning more about remote management – of the
geographic rather than emotional remoteness kind.
So the day flew by, and
I was trying to do telephone interviews in my lunch hour and answer calls and
emails in all my breaks, so lunch was a banana, some pineapple and grapes which
I ate whilst interviewing on the phone – all on track to compensate for my meal
out on Wednesday night.
Dinner however was at
the hotel, and I tried to choose wisely – no starter, a glass of wine and
gnocci with artichokes with a side order of broccoli with chilli, no pudding –
but being a hotel who knows what else was hidden in the food, we will see at WI
I guess. What I didn't do however was eat the bowl of crisps they gave me when I was waiting for my colleagues in the bar before dinner - and they looked very tempting!
I didn’t sleep very
well in my hotel bed so Friday started with me feeling a little lack luster,
breakfast was on plan, and then by 7.30am I was sat at work doing emails etc
before my course started. Brekkie in the hotel was an activia 0% yogurt, then
beans, veggie sausage, tomato, lean free range bacon (so the chef told me) and mushrooms all consumed with some tea. No
bread just in case I need my HeB to deal with lunch.
I was a bit miffed Friday
morning as well, I had to get the lift down to the hotel car park, and I don’t
know if I’m alone in thinking this,– and I know I am a little sensitive about
my size an all – but, the lift stated it was for a maximum of 8 people, and
frankly I was in it with one other person and we were struggling to not touch
due to lack of space – 8 people! No way, they are having a laugh? Anyway, next
time you are in a lift check out the number it says it is for and see what you
think?
So, I did a little more
email and then I trundled off to learn the finer details of my management style
for remote workers – once I was super duper trained it was 5pm on Friday
evening, and to me that signals the weekend, and I am really looking forward to
a gym filled extravaganza to make up for the sedentary week I have had with my
cold.
Friday night dinner was
fajita chicken with peppers and onions, with brown rice. Pudding in the form of
a ½ syn jelly cup with a 0 syn vanilla yogurt. And that was that – bit of
pottering around at home, then bed and tomorrow is beckoning.
Hope you had a good end
of your week, enjoy the week end x
There are some things you just can’t blog about, but, as the
plaque says in my mother in laws bathroom – ‘some days are a total waste of
make up’!
